Day 20 : Strength

The world breaks everyone, and afterward, some are strong at the broken places.” – Ernest Hemingway

The second of the four power-bases or core aspects of Shakti is Strength.

Strength can be understood as the ability to do things that need a lot of physical or mental effort; the degree to which something is strong or powerful. It is the will and indomitable courage and power to go forth and manifest it or be it.

Strength is embodied in the mythic feminine archetype of Pele or Mahakali. Sri Aurobindo describes this Shakti who represents the ability to swiftly and forcefully take the necessary ACTION; to drive CHANGE. Also, to assert oneself and hold one’s ground.

Reflection

  • Do I consider Strength as a natural ability I have?
  • In what situation do I find myself being strong? In what relationship do I find myself being strong?
  • On a scale of 1-10 how do I rate myself as strong and why?
  • If I were to relax something that blocks me from being strong and assertive, what is it? And what can I relax and let go, offer up to my higher-self, for release now?

Invitation to access Strength

If Strength were a power I could call upon and enter into a relationship with, what would I ask for? How would I do so in a way that is true for me? And for the highest good? Go ahead and invoke this power now.

And find a way to ACT with this Strength today.
