An original thinker, Nilima Bhat is a visionary whose extensive and pioneering body of work is outlined in her two coauthored books Shakti Leadership: Embracing Feminine and Masculine Power in Business and  My Cancer Is Me: The Journey from Illness to Wholeness. These works advocate for an integrated approach to DEI&B, leadership, well-being, and resilience. Foundational to creating a world that works for all. Shakti Leadership, co-authored with Raj Sisodia, presents a leadership paradigm that is cooperative, creative, and inclusive, promoting balanced and conscious living and leading. At a time when the world is looking for new models, Shakti Leadership has been referenced in many multilateral organizations and audiences such as the Nobel Peace Prize Forum, UN, World Bank, and IMF.

She has facilitated transformative workshops and training sessions globally for corporations such as Microsoft, Whole Foods Market, and Tata, among others. Her regenerative systems model promotes personal and organizational transformation toward conscious growth. She is also a prominent international keynote speaker, addressing topics such as mindfulness, women’s leadership, and workplace happiness.

Yogini, Dancer & Wellbeing Expert

As a facilitator of personal transformation, Nilima is a certified yoga teacher from the International Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Centre and a dedicated practitioner of the Integral Yoga of Sri Aurobindo. Her work emphasizes self mastery and selfless service, guiding individuals toward more free and fulfilled lives. Nilima focuses on developing Body Intelligence (BQ) to enhance well-being through body awareness and response to environmental changes, alongside Spiritual Intelligence (SQ), fostering self-awareness and a purpose-driven life. Collaborating with Hong Kong University’s Centre for Behavioral Health, and later outlined in My Cancer Is Me, she has honed and applied an Integrative Medicine Model, Sampurnah (‘Wholeness’), aiding patients in their recovery from cancer and lifestyle diseases.

Serial Founder & Changemaker

Following a successful career spanning over a decade in Corporate Communications and PR with industry giants like ESPN STAR Sports, Philips India and ITC Hotels, Nilima transitioned into social entrepreneurship by founding the Shakti Leadership Mission. This venture has propelled major initiatives such as the Shakti Fellowship, which, in collaboration with the University of San Diego, Skolkovo FLOW and other global institutions, aims to empower 100,000 women changemakers by 2035. The MojeKasheerSistership is part of her collaborative vision mobilizing women to regenerate Kashmir. Additionally, Nilima initiated the Truth & Reconciliation from the Inside-Out movement that seeks to heal collective trauma and promote global peace. Another noteworthy initiative is Shakti Kumbh, through which she aims to rejuvenate the Indic Knowledge System of Shakti, collaborating with female spiritual leaders to foster a deeper societal impact.

Advocacy & Recognition

A vocal advocate of the Conscious Capitalism movement and Women’s International Networking, Nilima’s contributions are widely recognized. She has served on advisory boards such as MixR, Peace Through Commerce and 20-first, and her efforts have been honored with the INDICA Cultural-Changemaker Fellowship Award. In 2022, she was awarded an Honorary PhD by Jharkhand Rai University, India, for her exceptional contributions to women’s empowerment. In 2023, Shakti Leadership was recognised as a Home for Humanity.

Nilima Bhat has held the position of Distinguished Professor in Gender and Conscious Leadership, Faculty of Excellence at Tecnológico de Monterrey’s EGADE Business School and the School of Humanities and Education, for integrating academic innovation with practical leadership training.
